- Madrid Pride

Where? Chueca district
What? Spain's biggest gay pride celebration mixes discussions and debates with parties and performances. The highlight is the massive carnival-style parade through the city center held on July 4th.
- Fiestas del Carmen

Where? Plaza de Chamberí
What? The Chamberí neighborhood celebrates its patron saint, La Virgen del Carmen, with open-air parties, live music, children's entertainment and much more.
- Vallecas Naval Battle

What? Also celebrating La Virgen del Carmen is the Vallecas neighborhood. Locals dress up as pirates and use buckets, watering cans and hoses to soak anyone within range.

What? An exhibition featuring over 100 of Sorolla's paintings on loan from museums and collections around the world. The highlight is the 14-panel mural "Vision of Spain" painted for the Hispanic Society of America in New York.
