Course Materials
Right after the placement test on the first day of class, students will receive a textbook and workbook corresponding to their level of Spanish. These materials are not included in the program price. If a student’s level improves substantially, we are always willing to bump him/her up to the appropriate level. In this event, the student must pay for any new or additional course books.
Enforex Teaching Method
ENFOREX combines different methodologies from a communicative point of view in order to reach every type of student and teacher. The main goal of our organization is to teach the students all the skills and concepts necessary to feel comfortable in any sort of Spanish-speaking environment, on either side of the Atlantic.
Our educational philosophy is centered on a commitment to developing the imperative attitudes, knowledge, and skills for:
- Cultivating independence in thoughts and actions
- Participating with others in all kinds of situations
- Improving communicative capacities to the extent that the student feels free and open towards native speakers, leading to advanced understandings and interactions across cultural boundaries
- In general, embracing an an intercultural point of view, and consequently developing a new sense of self that stems from the experience of living in a multilingual atmosphere
The Enforex methodology always considers language to be an instrument used by human beings to establish relationships, to take part in social exchanges & communicate with one another. This is what we mean by a communicative approach: our process is based on learning descriptive elements of the language and using them in specific situations to expand our capacity to communicate with others in a real social context.
Linguistic activities are present and contextualized in many different arenas of our social lives:
- Public
- Personal
- Educational
- Professional
Enforex's goal is to help the student acquire the ability to competently communicate in all of these contexts; which is made possible by teaching them how to produce and understand the linguistic & extralinguistic elements of a variety of social situations.
During Spanish language lessons the teacher will focus on theory and practice for all the components necessary for learning a language: grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking and vocabulary. Students are encouraged to learn via both deductive and inductive methodological approaches.
An extra component - the understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures - is also highly valued. Students are encouraged to develop intercultural competence with a combination of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will enable them to communicate and interact across cultural boundaries. The +5 cultural lessons included in the vast majority of our Spanish programs are designed to serve this purpose.
