Enforex

Enforex organizes our courses into 6 different Spanish language course levels, numbered 1 through 6. This structure follows the guidelines of both the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the Instituto Cervantes. Additionally, Enforex's 6 levels correspond to the U.S. university system, ensuring that you can receive credits for your Spanish language courses in Madrid once you return to your home school.

Each of Enforex Madrid's Spanish levels - with the exception of level 6 (Proficiency) - is further divided into sub-levels varying from lesser to greater linguistic knowledge. This is to ensure that you are placed in the in the course level best suited to your experience with the Spanish language. We'll assess your Spanish level on the first day of class with a written and oral placement test.

Level 1 ("A1"): Basic

This Spanish level is for those students who are taking a Spanish language course for the very first time. Among other skills, you will learn how to form fundamental grammatical and communicative structures in Spanish, such as greetings, talking about yourself, giving an opinion, conjugating verbs in the present tense, describing yourself and others and talking about likes and dislikes. You will also acquire a basic understanding of Spanish culture and society.

Level 2 ("A2"): Elementary

This Spanish language course level targets students who have some previous knowledge of basic Spanish structures. You will increase your level of grammar and vocabulary and be able to express yourself in various communicative contexts. Along with a greater awareness of Spanish culture and society, you will acquire useful skills such as forming comparisons, expressing an opinion, understanding the difference between the verbs ser and estar, conjugating verbs, narrating in the past tense and using commands.

Level 3 ("B1"): Intermediate

This language course level in the Madrid school is designed for incoming students who already have a good vocabulary base as well as a general command of some of the more complex structures in the Spanish language. You will make the leap from expressing yourself at a functional level to achieving a certain level of fluency in the language, accompanied by a greater comprehension of the Spanish way of life. By improving your understanding of both linguistic and extra-linguistic structures, you will start to communicate much more effectively.

Skills covered include: reviewing the past and present tenses, expressing courtesy, using the conditional and future tenses, expressing wants and needs through the subjunctive, forming negative commands and expanding upon your capacity to express an opinion.

Level 4 ("B2"): Advanced

Students at the advanced level already feel comfortable communicating in social situations and speak with a certain degree of fluency. You will largely expand upon your ability to debate and express opinions in detail; to link phrases and sentences cohesively; and to converse about more specific topics outside the realm of commonplace linguistic interchanges.

Skills covered in include: dominating the subjunctive in all its contexts and comparing it to the indicative, using periphrases, debating and narrating a story in Spanish, expressing hypotheses in the past and present, constructing the passive voice, and expressing feelings, likes and dislikes in depth.

Level 5 ("C1"): Superior

This Spanish language course level is for students who already have a solid grasp of the Spanish language and are able to communicate effectively. You will learn to express your ideas at a more abstract level by perfecting your grammar skills and dominating idioms, as well as increasing your familiarity with and knowledge of Spanish culture.

Level 6 ("C2"): Proficiency

This Spanish level is for those students with a high command of the Spanish language who want to perfect all areas of linguistic proficiency in order to fully become bilingual. You will focus on refining your oral and written skills while developing a global perspective of Spanish culture in relation to your particular field of interest.
